TIMESMALAYSIA, YOGYAKARTA – The former President of Indonesia Baharudin Jusuf Habibie (BJ Habibie) that just passed away really hypnotizes all Indonesian with his charisma and intelectual. As an appreciation a designer of Yogyakarta even draw his biography on a piece of Batik.
Idha Yacinta, who happened to meet the president personally when he was alive would like to draw his biography and tell the next generation about Habibie's story through it.
“It all almost the whole history, the batik symbolizes most of the president story since he was just a boy untill he reached 80's," Idha said at Batik Nusantara Jogja Expo Center (JEC) on Thursday (10/10/2019).
In addition, she considered that Batik is a good venue as a cultural heritage to leave some message to the future generation. Batik will have a historical value and could be accelerated with the new things going on.
Beside drawing BJ Habibie on her Batik, this designer of Yogyakarta also made some what so she called as cyber batik. She also made a friendship Batik that symbolize the relationship of Indonesia with another country. (*)
